Interior Design reports on stylish examples of this trend and included a “hot rooftop” designed by BBGM: The Observatory at The Graham Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Matthew Powell of Interior Design Magazine covers some of the hottest rooftop destinations around the country, including two projects design by the former BBG-BBGM, which is now BBGM. Powell notes the “Standout” of The Observatory to be: A textured stainless steel bar topped with granite countertops rivals stunning views of Washington’s Kennedy Center and Watergate Hotel.

BBGM Director, Alfred Gooden, published an article in Work Design Magazine titled “The Urban Suburban”. In the article, Gooden describes the trend of commercial office tenants leaving the city for more affordable office spaces. As property managers in the city work to lure tenants back, an increasing number of suburban landlords are being forced to renovate their office buildings into sleek, contemporary spaces, in order to compete with their urban counterparts. On December 16, 2013, the Washington office of BBG-BBGM announced its new name: BBGM. While retaining top talent and a deep reservoir of rich, diversified experience, the Washington, DC owners consolidated the brand name. Under this simplified name, the company continues to provide renowned expertise in international architecture, interior design, and space planning – remaining a premier, respected firm throughout the world. The New York and Shanghai offices of BBG-BBGM have joined HOK. The Washington, DC office of BBG-BBGM will continue as BBGM.
