Among the many beautiful features that comprise the dream-like Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa, Hospitality Design recently focused on the unique artwork that adorns the newly renovated property. MONOGRAM Hospitality Interiors at BBGM provided Interior Design services for the renovation of 107 guestrooms, suites and corridors at the boutique hotel located in Alexandria, Virginia, bringing the design studio’s unique touch to the project.
As discussed in the article, MONOGRAM at BBGM worked with Faulke & Lockner to produce custom pieces, including over-sized, high-contrast ink blot splatter motifs. MONOGRAM Senior Interior Designer Yelda Saricetin is also quoted in the article:
Rorscach graphics in midnight blue and forest green “encourage curiosity and dreamlike experiences,” says senior interior designer Yelda Saricetin. “The artwork serves to create moments that trigger the imagination amid a restful and subdued color scheme.”
The project has been featured in multiple press outlets, offering a great perspective on unique elements featured within the hotel’s redesign and newly revamped guest offerings.
The design inspiration was derived from the name of the hotel. Lorien was the mythical God of Dreams. The goal was to create a soft ethereal color palette to promote a relaxing spa-like Guest experience. The custom corridor carpets are an abstracted cloud pattern representing the notion of walking on clouds to your sleep experience.
