MONOGRAM at BBGM designed and hand-made a garment for the IIDA Southwest Couture event held in Scottsdale, Arizona on Thursday, October 20th, 2022. The themed fashion show ‘Cirque du Couture – The Weird and Wonderful’ took place at The Clayton House venue.
The MONOGRAM team collaborated with Mohawk (hard material vendor) and Wolf Gordon (soft material vendor) to create a Weird and Wonderful costume, and our very own Ryan Langlois was our team’s model in the fashion show. The MONOGRAM Team wore handmade necklaces made of the same fabric and welding rods, in support of our model. A collar is made of woven and braided fabrics in peach, grey, rosemary, natural linen, green, lavender, rose, reflective white, and magenta to create the Inspired Dreamland palette. The fabric and fringe are bound together to form a cloak reminiscent of circus capes, with epoxy Sherwin Williams buttons on a custom multi-layer necklace made from welding rods and wrapped in coordinating fabric. On the back you’ll see a magenta rubber tile detail, mimicking a trapeze harness. A mosaic-like belt uses rubber tile and welding rods, with a terrazzo style pattern, echoing confetti floating through the air at festivities for all to enjoy. Billowing circus tent-style pants recall the harem trousers, with green fabric piping to bring contrast of structure to the adjoining free-flowing materials draped on the colorful shoulders and linen bodice.
Shoutout to our wonderful vendors who are teamed up together with us, we couldn’t do it without you Wolf-Gordon and Mohawk Group. Thanks to Beth Chandler and Shannon Vance for their support. #monogramatbbgm #cirqueducouture #IIDA
