For those familiar with Washington, DC and the surrounding areas, it’s no secret that Old Town Alexandria has an abundance of charm. With the convenience of modern amenities and amazing eateries, Alexandria, Virginia should be a bucket list item for everyone.
Forbes recently covered the charming Old Town area, with “A Weekend Dining Guide To Alexandria, Virginia”. Contributor Katie Chang, who is no stranger to the area as a Georgetown alumnus, provides a beautiful lineup of food spots for a mouth-watering weekend getaway. Chang goes on to recommend staying at the Lorien Hotel & Spa, located right on King Street in Old Town. The property recently underwent extensive renovations featuring design from MONOGRAM Hospitality Interiors at BBGM.
An excerpt from the article:
You deserve a comfortable place to decompress before, in between, and after all that eating. To that end, I recommend Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa, a charming property conveniently located on King Street. It recently underwent a spiffy renovation earlier this year, so the accommodations feel airier and brighter than ever. My spacious suite featured a chic palette of white and grey, which was accented with elegant pops of amethyst, sapphire, and emerald.
The 107 guestrooms and suites carry a fresh white on white palette featuring a bleached wood headboard and white asymmetrical modern nightstands. The focal point of the room is a large Rorschach-inspired artwork created over ombre’ wallcovering at the headboard wall that invites curiosity and personal interpretation. Accent colors of blue, green and gray are layered minimally to balance the white-on-white room. Technological improvements were made for greater guest convenience and better sources of lighting improvements made the rooms and parlors more functional for work-related activities.
