BBGM recently designed rooftop bars for two DC hotels which were featured in The Washington Post.
- The Lady Bird at the Banneker Hotel
- The Perch rooftop bar at the Cambria Capitol Riverfront.
The Lady Bird is a destination bar created on the existing roof during the full renovation of the Banneker Hotel. Guests arrive via an art infused stair to an inviting interior bar that leads to an expansive exterior terrace. The Banneker’s rooftop terrace showcases views of the White House, the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial beyond.
BBGM designed the new 154-room Cambria hotel located at 69 Q Street SW in Washington, DC. The Cambria hotel includes a full-service restaurant & bar, scenic rooftop bar with expansive exterior terrace with views of the Capital Skyline, Nationals Park and Audi Field. It also features a fitness center and 2,500 square feet of multi-function meeting space.
In addition to roof tops features in Washington post , BBGM has done the following roof lounges:
- Watergate Hotel
- Ballpark hotel
- Graham Hotel
An excerpt from the recent Washington Post article:
The Banneker would have a rooftop bar, dubbed Lady Bird, which had to be constructed from scratch. “Nothing existed” atop Rouge, Raeshawna Scott, the general manager of the Banneker, says in an email. “There were just machines on the roof.”
Lady Bird, named after former first lady Claudia “Lady Bird” Johnson, is a gem of a bar, just 1,200 square feet indoors and out on the hotel’s 11th floor.
As nice as the airy room is, you want to head out through the glass doors, which fold up accordion-style, and onto the wooden deck, which runs parallel to 16th Street NW.
