“Community” is what sets Tempe apart from any other city in the state of Arizona. Dating from the origins of Tempe and the early Hohokam settlements, we see the City established by settlers working together toward a common vision of community. A goal of sustaining life through a connectivity to the land. It is a hub for creatives, intellectuals, adventurers and curiosity seekers. The Omni Tempe vision stems from the development of a gathering space, a basecamp for the mind, body, and soul.
The hotel will be infused with a sense of community that will bring unique amenities and activities the locals can enjoy; beers on tap from local breweries, art immersions, live music, delicious food, wellness classes, seminars and discussions in collaboration with ASU. For moments of reflection, the visitor will find a tech-free quiet space and collaborative zones will create spaces for comfort and creative interactions. The utilization of materials that recalls the emerging city scape, brick and copper, the dynamic play of light – shadow recalling the power of the sun with the contrasting water element will connect the hotel back to Mill Avenue, the Salt River, and the city of Tempe.
